At Mint Design we have the ability to clean small delicate parts via ultrasonic cleaning. Ultrasonic cleaning works by using electrical energy to power a transducer, this transducer then converts the electrical energy to a high frequency mechanical energy which causes the liquid medium to cavitate. The cavitation bubbles occur from the sudden formation and collapse of low-pressure bubbles in a liquid by means of mechanical forces. These collapsing bubbles create intense levels of concentrated pressure on the surface of a part, which begins to remove any contaminant that may be adhering to the part. The cavitation process not only cleans the exterior of a part, but any blind holes, cracks or recessed areas as well.
Ultrasonic cleaning can be used from everything from cleaning fuel injectors, jewelry, bearings to mixing or homogenisation of liquids.
